Looking for fun and safe Halloween activities for kids?

First Christian Church will be having it's annual Trunk or Treat event on Saturday, October 26th at 5:00pm. This event will include an opportunity for your children to go "trunk" or treating in our church parking lot. Going from car to car, collecting yummy goodies and treats, your children will enjoy the unique experience and be talking about it for days.

There will be games, a magic show, food and of course lots of trunks with plenty of treats

Love Elgin Day offers an opportunity for people to experience the Kingdom of God and see it touching their lives in tangible and even supernatural ways, as the Gospel of Jesus Christ is carried right to the heart and home of every guest served. Our goal is to minister to the spiritual, emotional, physical, mental and financial needs of every person.

What can you do?

  • You can sign up here if you would like to volunteer.
  • Volunteers are needed, but prayers for preparation and the day of are also important.

Kidstime Promotion Sunday

Kidstime Promotion Sunday!!
This Sunday, September 8th 10:30 AM

The children will participate in a small ceremony during worship service where they will be recognized for participation in the Kidstime program, and those that will be moved up to the next class will receive special mention! Each child will receive a certificate of participation. Following the ceremony, kids will go to their classes and have a fun celebration before beginning the NEW EXCITING curriculum next week!!!

You Won’t want to miss their smiling faces!!


Teachers (both kidstime & preschool), please plan on staying after (9/8) in the kidstime room for a short tutorial of the computer/projector.

Kingdom Treasure VBS - Thank You

First Christian Church would just like to take a moment to say a BIG thank you for all those that were involved with our VBS this year in ANY way from planning to cleanup, that God gave them the inspiration, the energy, the time and good health to allow them to be such a blessing through serving. What an awesome event it was to say the least. We were able to reach many and our hope is that hearts were touched through it.

Prayer Walk

On Monday nights the Prayer Team regularly prays for our community and all of the outreach activities the FCC family engages in. Over the summer we will be putting feet to those prayers as we go out into the community to pray over specific neighborhoods. We know some folks are not yet comfortable praying out loud, but please consider coming out and walking with us.

Everyone is welcome, and no one is obligated to pray out loud. We’d love to have you all there!

  • July 15th – Watch St (Off of National Street, behind Butera)

International Pot Luck

Join us on Pentecost Sunday to enjoy a time of fun and fellowship. This is a combined event with Elohim church so this will be a wonderful opportunity to fellowship with our new friends. If you plan on attending, please be sure to sign up in the welcome center and include how many will be in your party so we know how many seats to make available. Also, bring a dish of your ethnicity to pass as it will help to create a delicious atmosphere.

  • Donations are needed of Non-perishable food pantry items, and GENTLY used clothing (school unioforms, mens and women’s interview and dress clothes…... ) They can be dropped off in the Welcome Center.
  • We are also looking for 3 folks to help enter data registration information for Love Elgin Day on the day of the event. If you have a laptop with Microsoft Excel and would be willing to help enter information, or let us borrow your laptop for the day on 4/27, please contact Sandy Smith.

Easter Sunder 2013

Join us next Sunday to celebrate our risen Savior

Luke 24:6-8 says:

He is not here; he has risen! Remember how he told you, while he was still with you in Galilee: ‘The Son of Man must be delivered over to the hands of sinners, be crucified and on the third day be raised again.’ ” Then they remembered his words.

I cannot think of a greater gift than this, can you?

Join us Easter Morning...
  • We will begin the morning with Easter breakfast at 9am.
  • Worship service will begin at 10:15 so we can spend more time praising our Lord.
  • During the worship service, the kids will be having a special Kidstime. They won’t want to miss the fun exciting lesson and egg hunt!

A signup sheet is available in the welcome center. Whether you are bringing a dish or not, we ask that you please sign up with the number in your party so we are able to plan accordingly.

Are you able to help us decorate for Easter? We are taking donations of Easter lilies to decorate the Sanctuary. Feel free to bring them up through Easter Sunday.
